Dear Families,
I look forward to seeing you at our scheduled times on Wednesday or Thursday. Most families have scheduled meetings already, but for those who still need to, I still have some appointments available on Thursday at scattered times. The easiest way to reach me is by email and suggest a couple time periods that could work for you and, if you wish, provide an easy contact telephone for me to confirm a time. Meetings are scheduled every 20 minutes. Students are welcome to join as the family wishes, but this is elective. You child has helped prepare some of their sample work (math samples and record, Composition Journal Pieces, and Science Journal).
Since the time is limited, I like to concentrate on student progress, strengths, and concerns or needs and hear feedback on these topics. I like to give parents a good idea regarding present performance and behavior, and the student's current trajectory. We will have time devoted to questions you may have. If there are any concerns, we can have a brief initial talk about goals, expectations, and ways to support your child in school. Matters of concern normally will need follow up communication as the conference schedule doesn't support dealing with such issues thoroughly.
